Diet for college students

College life can be stressful when you are bogged down under the pressure of studies. In order to keep the mind fresh and energetic, plus to bear with the stress, we should follow a nutritious and balance diet. The food we consume must provide us with sufficient energy for performing extracurricular activities as well.

Now, I present to you the 1500 Calorie Diet!! 1500 calorie is the ideal figure for the total amount of calories that could be consumed in a day. Thus, we have to keep an account on the number of calories we consume everyday. But how can we achieve the target? Remember the simple quote that goes like this, "breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince, dinner like a pauper"? Let our breakfast be of 500 and lunch 400 calories. Since dinner should be light, limit it to 300 calories and the remaining 300 calories should be for snacks.

Let say we had a plate of nasi lemak and a cup of milk tea or teh susu. A regular nasi lemak already contains 400 calories and 20 calories from the teh susu. Whereas, in order to maintain the calorie intake of 400 calories for lunch, a cup of rice and a cup of fried vegetables and diced chickens are enough. Both serve approximately around 395 calories. And for dinner, simple dish like salad with light dressing or  a veggie burger topped with grilled mushroom and light mayonnaise spread and sauce should do the  trick of providing the 300 calories. As for snacks, a few slices of wholewheat breads or a cup of light vanilla yogurt is enough.

Did you know that there is an application called MyFitnessPal, where the app helps you keep your calorie count and achieve your dream weight.

For those who haven't have it, download it on your tab, IPad or phones for free!! Download it now here. We can also access the online MyFitnessPal via computer, just go here.

I came across a few tips on how to shed of weight recently online. One of them says that more sleep does help with the weight loss! OHYEAHH!!! A study showed that an hour sleep per night for a year could be translated into a 14 pound loss, but at the same time, it is shown that lack of sleep can increase appetite and cause us to be overeating. However, bear in mind, my friends, that oversleeping, where we sleep more at night AND day is, of course, can lead to other things such as heart diseases, depression and memory problems. And it is highly not recommended to sleep too much during this Holy Ramadan :)

And other ways to lose weight are by eating more vegetables and fill up your stomach on fewer calories with soups. We can have all sorts of soups (but not cream soups!), best served as appetizer or as main course as soups contain less calories than other normal regular main course dishes. And as for the vegetables, it contains water and fibers that could fill you up with lower calorie counts.

College life might be difficult for those who wish to diet and shed off a few kgs but it is simple if we follow the correct ways and plan. Things could be simple and easy if only we make it happen. So, get off your seat, grab a pen and paper, and plan your diet and make it happens, bebeh!! yeahhhh ;)

                   go on, try it :)
